With centuries of experience in steel mastery, we have developed a unique, sharp-edged solid steel profile, SL30®. A striking feature of this steel profile system is its minimalistic character. Its unprecedented performance only requires a width of 30 mm (1 3⁄16”) and makes it the narrowest steel profile on the market. Architects can design sophisticated, extremely stable glazed screens and doors with various customer-specific requirements.
We believe in the power of solid steel profiles, combining their exceptional strength with unprecedented performance. The ingenuity of our profile systems offers architects the ultimate design flexibility with great attention to detail.
Maximum light transmission due to the minimalist character of the strong and durable steel profile. The architect can create large glass surfaces in their design. High flexibility while maintaining strength makes it possible to create other shapes as well.
We are the exclusive developer and manufacturer of all our profile systems as well as end products like doors, windows, and entire facades. As such, we maintain a unique industry position. Other manufacturers either develop and produce profile systems, or manufacture doors and windows using profiles produced elsewhere. Our combined services guarantee a flexible and versatile production process without compromising on quality or deadlines.
As the manufacturer of the profiles, we can even modify them by, for example, half-rounding them if an architect so desires. But we can also make profiles deeper when it comes to higher glazed screens or doors. In any case, we can think along with the architect to come up with solutions for various requirements, preferably at the earliest possible stage.
Several innovations have been applied in the SL30® series to ensure that the applicable functional requirements for fire and smoke protection and glass closure can still be achieved in such a slim profile.
Tested and certified in accordance with the applicable requirements.
Timelaps film Fire testing:
For the sake of smoke protection in combination with user-friendliness, MHB is equipping the SL30® series with the self-developed and patented silent MBS-R® locking system, which means that no locking points are required in daily use. To MBS-R system
The SL30® series has been tested for fire resistance of 30, 60 and for some types even 90 and 120 minutes, in accordance with NEN 6069 and EN 1634-1.
MHB fire-resistant SL30®-EI doors are tested and certified in accordance with European regulations, the
EN 1634-1. The doors shall comply with the classification EI230 according to NEN-EN 13501-2.
Glazed screens are tested according to NEN 6069 and EN 1364-1. MHB SL30®-EI screens comply with the classification EI60 according to NEN-EN 13501-2.
Smoke resistance based on smoke permeability. MHB tests smoke permeability according to criteria Sa (smoke at room temperature) and S200 (smoke at 200 degrees) according to NEN- EN 1634-3.
If a internal steel glazed screen or door of the SL30® series is designed to be fire and/ or smoke resistant, conditions apply for maximum dimensions.
Sound-insulating SL30® internal glazed doors and screens comply with the latest standards and are tested at Peutz.
The doors have an Rw value of up to 43 dB and the glazed screens a Rw value of up to 47 dB.
All tested products are certified by Peutz in accordance with ISO 10140-2:2010. In cooperation with Peutz, MHB has developed a calculation module to make a prediction for almost every customer-specific configuration.
The fall protection is also calculated and possibly tested on a customer-specific basis. This according to NEN 6702 and NEN-EN 1990. Because MHB, as a manufacturer, can adjust the profile depth of the SL30® profiles, no auxiliary constructions are required to achieve a certain strength or height.
Surface treatment is very important for the life expectancy of our products. MHB provides all doors and facades with a powder coating under its own management.
Blasted, powder coated and enamelled in all (RAL) colors with a layer thickness of approx. 60 µm.
MHB’s powder coating installation complies with Qualisteelcoat (C5).The highest possible certification for steel surface treatment. We are committed to maintaining this certification, regularly having our facilities inspected officially.
We work with a selection of preferred glass suppliers to meet our high standards. We only accept minute size deviations of up to 0.5 mm (1⁄16”). Our solid steel profiles also facilitate arched and rounded glass shapes. Because of our ultra-slim profiles, our glass rim sealings should be extra thin.
The glass can be closed with different types of glazing beads, i.e. 4 types, of which 1 is made of aluminium.
The aluminium lath is not fire resistant, the 3 steel lathing is.
