The original 17th-century merchant’s house has been renovated by “Heyligers design + projects” into a sustainable, gas-free and comfortable building.
It is wonderful to see that our SL30 facades keep the old classic style characteristics and the original spaces visible. In addition, the (fire-resistant) super-slim steel facades add transparency and spaciousness to the interior. We are proud that our product is so perfectly in line with the ambitions set for this renovation.

The Timmerfabriek; a characteristic industrial building, built just after the war (1948) on the former site of the shipyard Wilton Feijenoord in Schiedam. The building has a surface area of 9,500 m2. This former three-storey carpentry workshop is characterised by large open floors around a central atrium, a storey height of at least five meters and large glass surfaces in the facade that provide light and space. By using the (fire resistant) SL30 profile system, with again large glass surfaces, this light is sent further into the building. The four concrete shell roofs form a special accent both inside and outside and give the building an appealing and striking appearance. Authentic details such as the industrial maintenance bridges, the skilfully executed concrete staircases and the skylights in the atrium built from glass bricks also underline the sober yet elegant reconstruction architecture and industrial history of the building. Rietveld Architects was commissioned to design the head office for Amvest. In order to make optimal use of the location, Rietveld Architects designed a series of glass and white glazed brick constructions that offer a beautiful view of the water and the city.
Inventive thinking characterizes a large part of the interior architecture of the office building. To improve business communication, all offices are located on the same floor, while the meeting rooms are located on the mezzanine floor for easy access for the public. The office building, which will eventually be a green environment, is equipped with a few structural “trees”, the trunks and branches of which serve as columns to support the roof. Meanwhile, the lower floors at the top of the building hang, a technical feat reflected in the walls of the staircase, which resembles a canopy. MHB has made a flexible connection for the fire-resistant SL30 glazed screens
in the stairwell. A challenge, but with specially designed connections succeeded and become very beautiful. Another special feature is that the profiles exactly match the zigzag line of the steps. SL30 glazed screens provide even more transparency.

The design of the Plus Ultra building on the WUR campus focuses on synergy, meeting, collaboration and open innovation between the various companies in this building. These knowledge companies subscribe to the same core values. Everyone in this building shares knowledge and works together on new developments in the agro- and food industry. An incubator where openness, transparency and visibility are crucial.
This building contains laboratories, clean rooms, conditioned rooms, multifunctional research rooms, techno halls, conference rooms, presentation rooms and offices. The MHB SL30 doors therefore also have various specifications such as fire-resistant, fall-proof and sound-resistant. The Plus Ultra building has the BREEAM Excellent certificate.

Where once the editors of the Telegraph wrote news and the presses ran every night, now there are computer games being developed by Guerilla Games. In a completely renovated building where old and new, comfort and safety, go hand in hand. Guerilla Games recruits people with the slogan: “We don’t ask for much. Just be yourself. And be extraordinary. MHB identifies in these words when it comes to its products. Honest materials, good products and therefore extraordinary.
The work-meets-play hotel concept at Zoku Copenhagen is creatively designed to bring people together. The SL30® profile system integrates perfectly into the design of the building, which brings maximum transparency and light into the interior. Coupled with excellent fire and smoke protection, the system ensures maximum safety & esthetics. At Zoku, MHB combines the highest standards in terms of fire and smoke protection, and outstanding elegance. MHB has equipped the SL30® system with MHB innovative MBS-R fire and smoke safety locking system.
In the extraordinary Westbeat building in Amsterdam, the architect has created a “Super Space” by using massive arches in the interior. The SL30® arches, which are the foundation, are all different in shape and size. Thanks to the focus on innovative and aesthetic solutions, the SL30® system combines the highest standards of fire and smoke protection with aesthetics.
MHB was involved at an early stage by the main contractor Koninklijke Woudenberg to collaborate on the design of the internal facades for this monumental building, in which an innovative combination of maximum fire and smoke protection with exclusive aesthetics was of paramount importance. MHB engineered and produced more than 250 ultra-slim steel SL30® internal facades. In our favorite area, the atrium, the main area of House of the City of Rijswijk, our facades give the interior a unique transparent appearance and function.
